The museum occupies five 13th and 14th-century palaces which are Catalan Gothic in style. Opened in 1963, the museum is a key centre for learning about the artist’s formative years.
The permanent collection houses a total of 3,800 works from his youth and his years of study that show the close relationship the artist from Malaga had with the city of Barcelona.
