The origins of CITY CENTRE HOTELS date back to 1993, in the St. Moritz hotel, where Joan Asensio Ros was manager at the time. That year, an association of hotels was established, all of them located in the city centre. Its aim was to be able to deal more effectively with the flow of bookings from any point of origin to this part of Barcelona. The concept was developed over time, and the association of hotels led to the creation of a hotel chain in 1996, with all the hotels grouped under the same management and ownership. This is why, out of all the hotels that formed part of the association at that time, only the St. Mortiz and the Regente hotels remained to lead the hotel chain. A year later, the first 3-star hotel, Hotel Taber, was incorporated. This was followed chronologically by the Covadonga, the Montblanc, the Montsia, the Berga and the Open, the latter four being new constructions. The chain is currently recognised by its initials, HCC HOTELS, and the intention is to create a brand that is totally identifiable with excellent city-centre locations and a high level of quality in terms of facilities and services. HCC HOTELS belongs to the Lutx Group.
