La Carrova Tower is a small watchtower located 4 kilometres from Amposta, overlooking the Ebro river. It originally served as a strategic point for controlling traffic along the river.
The tower is a good example of the medieval defence towers at the lower stretch of the Ebro, as is evident in its robust structure belonging to the austere 14th-century Gothic style.
Near the tower is a picnic area, the Carrova fountain, the Boscaso springs -small lagoons which are protected because of their ecological value-, and the remains of a Roman settlement, currently being archaeologically reconstructed.
Location: Near the town of Amposta.
