Agbar Tower

In 2003, a new symbol of Barcelona was born, which was the result of a collaboration between architecture studios Jean Nouvel and b720 architects studio in Barcelona.

 

The building is 144 metres tall with an ovoid plan that is almost circular. The interior of the tower consists of an open-plan space without any pillars. The exterior façade serves as a large curtain wall made of sheets of glass that cover the entire building. These sheets, in the form of slatted blinds, are of different colours: on the lower half of the building the colours are warmer, red for example, which get progressively cooler, changing to blue and then to white at the top.

 

The building houses the offices of the Agbar Group.
