Maremágnum / IMAX / Aquarium

The Maremágnum is located on the former Muelle de España, the pier that was originally used for loading and unloading goods.

 

Today it is a leisure, cultural, and commercial centre, located in a large, architecturally-innovative space where water is the dominant feature.

 

Next to the Maremágnum shopping centre is the Imax cinema, famous for its 3D documentaries. In addition to these, it has a huge screen measuring 600 square metres and a dome of 900 square metres where films are also shown.

 

The Barcelona Aquarium is also located in this area. This incredible recreational and educational marine centre is the largest in the world with a Mediterranean theme. Consisting of 35 tanks that include 11,000 examples from 450 different species, it also has an 80-metre long underwater tunnel, 6 million litres of water, and an immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe, making this centre a unique entertainment reference which has already been visited by 14 million people.
