The Barraca de l’Ametller (stone hut), with its impressive dimensions, is considered the largest with a single nave in the Ebro and Tarragona region.
It features a rectangular layout in the form of a thurible, with one side measuring 8.80 metres, and the other 5.40 metres, with a height of between 4 and 5 metres.
Facing the south, the entranceway is pointed and there are two other openings, for ventilation and to let out smoke. These are made with two or three slabs, forming a triangle with the east and north walls. The hut was used as temporary housing for farmworkers. It also has several shelves and a trough for animals, made from the same stone as the structure.
Location: On the outskirts of Amposta.
